God, He Truly Cares

God placed him in my life,
Unexpected, although at times implored.

Outward implications, spoke to no desire,
Inwardly, all along, wanting to be adored.

Skeptical at first, past pain, past hurt;
Those often dictate, in the end, what we feel.

Unsure of his intent, not wanting to suffer,
Earnestly, hoping his intentions were real.

Through a wild ride, as I knew it would be,
He's still there, but I'm still unsure.

From a friend, words of wisdom,
She said that we could certainly endure.

Confrontation, anger, turmoil,
This is the end of that, understandably so,

Through the frustration,
Unwilling to move, he's promised not to go.

What I feel,
He always wants me to share.

Although at time, I often conceal,
He confidently lets me know that he cares.

If anyone tells you,
God doesn't answer prayers.

Just send them to me,
I can tell you, God, He truly cares.
